History
1996
The first goal of ELCOSYS, starting from the year of its foundation, was to create and develop hardware modules and software applications, single board computers, OEM boards and microprocessor boards for control and automation systems. ELCOSYS microprocessor boards are mainly used by electronics technicians and enthusiasts in the development of automation systems, data acquisition and SCADA systems. The first supervision and control systems implemented with the SPQZ80 module, which is based on the Zilog Z80 microprocessor, were installed in 1996 and are still operational.
To meet the needs of an ever increasing number of users and technicians, each with its consolidated know-how on a specific hardware architecture, the ELCOSYS ® catalog has been enriched with other brands of OEM modules and microprocessor cards. A new customer service is also ready to offer the distribution and installation of telemetry systems, remote control and supervision systems for civil and industrial plants.
To keep up to date with the latest technologies, ELCOSYS has also specialized in the SCADA field (supervision control and data acquisition), using local networks with modems on dedicated lines, GSM modems or modems via radio (VHF / UHF). This system is currently being used more and more efficiently in aqueducts, water treatment systems and irrigation systems. An example of a system implemented with this technique can be seen in these pages.
Following the latest trends in technology and market developments, increasingly oriented towards remote control systems integrated on the GSM network, ELCOSYS completes its catalog of remote controls with GSM remote controls used in the industrial and civil fields, as well as in modern home automation systems. Responding to the new remote control criteria, the new GSM ELCOSYS controllers allow the user to activate devices, obtain remote sensor readings and so on just by writing a simple SMS.
The demand for remote monitoring systems on the GSM network is growing, especially as regards the high-end, characterized by the need to control multiple functions of remote stations with maximum reliability and safety. The 19 "2U ELCOSYS rack versions are implemented using standard microcontroller architectures (ATMEL), industrial GSM modules, optically isolated relay and I / O cards, professional power supplies designed for continuous and automatic use, with power supply from external line at 220 Vac and emergency accumulators with buffer recharge. These modular hardware solutions are designed to ensure a high level of reliability and ease of maintenance, required in more complex systems, such as water pumping stations or systems in isolated areas such as repeaters. radio in the mountains at high altitudes, often powered exclusively by photovoltaic panels.
A new "electronic brick": the ELC8951 board which is an open-source Microcontroller Board. Based on the ATMEL AT89C51AC3 Microcontroller, it was designed as a prototyping platform with features of hardware and software flexibility and extreme ease of use. It is intended for engineers, designers, hobbyists, and students. The ELC8951 board can interact with external devices that receive inputs from analog and digital sensors and transducers and can control LEDs, relays, lights, motors and other actuators by generating digital output signals. The microcontroller on the board can be programmed using the BASCOM programming language and the BASCOM development environment, or one of the numerous C compilers available on the network, even free, for the Micro 8051 family, such as the Reads by RIGEL, the mikroC by Mikroelektronika, the microC / 51, the Crossware, etc .. The ELC8951 projects can work as stand-alone systems, or they can communicate through the software running on an external computer and you can download the program developed from the PC to the board through specific programs such as ATMEL FLIP).
From the many years of experience in the field of industrial remote controls of ELCOSYS, the latest version of RCU-8951 was born, which includes all the state-of-the-art functions of the most sophisticated remote supervision and control systems on GSM network and remote alarm technology, implemented in a very robust assembly and with a very reliable engineering; this version is suitable for installation in both domestic and industrial environments. The incorporated hexadecimal keyboard, which allows programming of all parameters and operational control of all functions of RCU-8951, is very useful during installation and testing of the system, to execute any command or read the values of the inputs digital and analogue on the LCD without the need to send SMS.
